The FINANCIAL — Rompetrol Georgia joined Tbilosoba celebrations with two cheerful events organized for auto-lovers. on October 24, at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, Rompetrol auto race took a start from the company petrol station on the ninth kilometer of Agmashenebeli Alley.
The event is carried out within the framework of 2010 Rompetrol Season. A bit later, at 12 o’clock auto show of antique and new cars of the auto magazine AutoBuild opened on the Rose Square. Visitors of auto show received fuel vouchers and special gifts from Rompetrol.
There were 16 cars participating in the race and auto racers had to cover special distances prepared in the mountainous and rocky areas near Algeti.
Auto racers received movement schedules. They had to strictly obey traffic rules before leaving the city which is one of the conditions of the race. As for difficulties and obstacles, they had to tackle them in Algeti Mountains and surrounding areas. The race finished at exactly 17:00 o’clock at Rompetrol petrol station again where winners received special awards”- Mevlud Meladze, president of Auto Federation said.
“I am extremely happy to hold these two events during Tbilisoba days. Race winners received half tone of fuel from Rompetrol Prize Fund which was shared between three winning positions in two categories. Besides, we joined Auto Build show with great pleasure. There were antique and new cars exhibited for sale. Any person who bought a car at the Show received 50 liters of Afix from us. As for other sponsors, they also offered some interesting conditions to auto lovers“ – declared Aleksandre Albin, director general of Rompetrol Georgia.
From 2008, Rompetrol has been a general sponsor of auto-sport in Georgia. The company provides fuel for racers at all stages and grants different prizes. Besides, it has become kind of a tradition to summarize their success at the gala award ceremony which is held before the beginning of each new stage.
Within the frames of 2010 Rompetrol Season, another auto race with participation of professional racers will be held in Tbilisi on November 14 this year.
