The FINANCIAL — Rompetrol Downstream, in partnership with Vodafone Romania, introduces the payment and money transfer service – M-Pesa in its station network. The M-Pesa users can now withdraw and deposit money 24/7 in its network of 135 Rompetrol filling stations in Romania. Moreover, the Rompetrol customers can now top up their Fill&Go cards with M-Pesa straight from their mobile phones, at no additional costs.
“Rompetrol seeks to develop on a permanent basis, being a competitive, sustainable and diversified company. The partnership with Vodafone Romania enables our customers to take advantage of a new service package that continues the modernization and expansion of the entire distribution network and the diversification of customer experiences. In 2015, 118 filling stations have been rebranded. Rompetrol combines the quality of its products with high technology, attributes which are reflected in our premium fuels”, declared Mihaela Ungar, Chief Officer CEO Block, KMG International.
“The M-Pesa users can now take advantage of the payment and money transfer service in all Rompetrol filling stations, and enjoy immediate, non-stop access to their funds. The strategic partnership with Rompetrol means premium locations available to customers, including in transit areas where users expect a wide range of services. For a limited period, customers withdrawing cash from Rompetrol stations will receive a bonus consisting in national and international minutes and megabytes of data in the Vodafone network”, said Valentin Ştefan, Business Development Director, Vodafone Romania.
In addition to money transfer, M-Pesa allows payments of utility bills, purchases of goods and services or topping up the Vodafone prepay cards.
The M-Pesa payment and money transfer service from Vodafone Romania can be accessed on any phones and does not require an Internet connection, prepaid credit or a bank account or bank card. Receiving money from abroad by means of international transfer service has recently become available for M-Pesa users, according to Rompetrol.
The M-Pesa payment and money transfer service adds to the existing package of facilities available in the Rompetrol network – the Efix fuels, the Fill&Go pay-at-the-pump service and the Hei restaurants. Initiated in 2013, the program for the upgrading of the entire distribution network consists in replacing the visual identification elements with the new Rompetrol logo, and in reshuffling the interiors with a new architecture and quality finishing and materials. The new concept is addressed to Rompetrol customers by bringing a new premium design meeting their needs and expectations with state of the art technical solutions. Being a result of an intense research activity, this station defines the new quality standard of the Rompetrol network and provides a modern setting for the products of the largest and the most modern refinery of Romania and South-Eastern Europe – the Petromidia refinery. Moreover, the stations are provided with cutting-edge pumps fitted with multimedia systems, and with low energy consumption due to a new LED lighting system.
