The FINANCIAL — Rompetrol, one of the leading oil companies in Georgia, has implemented a corporate customer oriented unique business service, under the Fill&Go brand.
The Fill&Go business concept – fuel control, simplifies fleet management and offers alternative solutions for efficient fuel consumption monitoring.
According to Dan Voiku, General Director of Rompetrol Georgia, Fill&Go costumers will be provided with direct online access to consumption reports and statistics regarding fleets’ vehicles, which will enable more efficient fleet management.
“In Romania over 7,000 companies use this service, which was launched in 2005. Last year the Fill&Go initiative was a success in France and Bulgaria and now it’s Georgia’s turn. By means of this service clients, managers and drivers, can forget about cash payment and concentrate on driving only,” Voiku told The FINANCIAL.
The Fill&Go Fuel Control fleet management system has two key components: The technical device and IT Component.
In Voiku’s words, the IT component provides the customer with information about fuel consumption and other operations via the internet.
Rompetrol Georgia invested an amount of USD 150-250,000 per every station in this upgrade program.
“We are targeting the corporate segment in the market and this way, we will definitely increase our sales, also we will increase the company’s market share in the retail segment,” Voiku noted.
“This project is dedicated to making Rompetrol Georgia closer to corporate clients. Fill&Go makes the collaboration between Rompetrol and the companies who want Quality product easier. A client can enter the gas station, fill fuel of for example 500 litres of petrol and pay afterwards,” declared George Kotrikadze, Head of the Association of Oil Importers in Georgia.
“If other oil companies implement this project it will be very good for the market as a competitive atmosphere acts as an engine and a motivation for each of them individually to build up a business,” added Kotrikadze.
“This project is dedicated to commercial structures, to groups that have a number of transport vehicles in order to provide them with accurate fuel control,” Shalva Ogbaidze, the President of the Georgian Automobile Federation (GAF), told The FINANCIAL.
“I think this market segment is free in Georgia and it will be a very beneficial project. Companies, the owners of tax parks will use this system,” he added.
“In terms of revenue, 2007 was a very important year because of the active start in the Georgian market,” Valentin Iani, PR Manager of Rompetrol Georgia, told The FINANCIAL.
In his words, the turnover of Rompetrol Georgia was USD 67,000,000 in 2007. One of our most important objectives is to increase the sales of Rompetrol Georgia and estimated turnover up to USD 110,000,000.
“I can say that starting from this year, in Romania, a member of the European Union, we will produce only EUR 5 fuels. All the products we are importing are of high quality and are produced in Romania, in our refinery,” stated Iani.
According to Valentin Iani, Rompetrol is going to compete on the Georgian market with their high quality and reasonably priced products and services, Fill&Go being one of the latest offers.
At the moment, Rompetrol Georgia offers its Fill&Go business customers the following control tools: Fill&Go Ring, Fill&Go Easy Ring.
According to Rompetrol representatives, the Fill&Go Ring is a component that can be mounted on any vehicle and can take-over the identification data of the vehicle and travel information available onboard, using a filling pump. The data thus collected is transferred to a database that generates reports and statistics of the average or total consumption, plus other travel indicators.
The Fill&Go Ring consists of two elements: VIU, Vehicle Identification Unit. It stores the vehicle identification data: company, department, registration number, fuel type and additionally, takes-over from the board computer of the car the kilometres travelled and the engine operation time.
The issuer-receiver ring installed around the filling hole of the tank is connected by cable to the VIU, transferring the information to the system.
The pump in the Rompetrol station is provided with a similar Identification Chip. The Identification Chip recognizes the ring whenever the fuel nozzle is placed in the tank inlet. In that moment the pump identifies the car, allowing or denying refuelling, then it takes-over the data recorded by the VIU: kilometres, engine operation hours and transaction data, type and quantity of fuel, unit and total price.
“The information thus collected from the pump is transmitted online to the Fill&Go Fuel Control application. It automatically calculates the real and average fuel consumption since the primary data used were collected without any human intervention and is 100% accurate,” Dan Voiku said.
The Fill&Go Ring customer experiences value for money for each resource in his fleet. This allows reallocating of these resources in order to obtain maximum profitability.
By purchasing fuels using the Fill&Go Ring, neither manager nor drivers are concerned with carrying cash/coupons when purchasing fuel, or with the receipts that should be brought to the company for centralization.
Fraud prevention with fuel savings reaches between 10% and 25%, due to the following factors: Electronic reading of the kilometres and engine hours; Automatic calculation of the exact fuel expenses; Electronic data recordings and automatic generation of centralized reports.
The Fill&Go EasyRing is a less complex version of the Fill&Go Ring. It is a control tool which can be installed on any vehicle of the fleet and whose installation is easy and user-friendly.
The Fill&Go EasyRing allows identification of the vehicle before filling and authorizes fuel filling, with the help of the memory chip attached directly to the ring. The memory chip saves vehicle identification information, owner-company, department, car registration number. The Easy ring does not count engine hours.
The EasyRing is installed on the tank nozzle and does not require connection to the odometer. Once installed, it allows identification of the vehicle before starting the gas pump and authorizes fuel filling. The driver manually sets the data of kilometres on the station system panel.
The benefits of the EasyRing is that it’s installed easily, it does not require much time needing only 10 minutes of installation. By using the EasyRing, the customer has online access on www.manager.fillandgo.ge, where the fleet manager has online access on information regarding the quantity filled, the time and place of filling, and average consumption for each vehicle and fleet.
Access to Fill&Go Fuel Control is done by means of www.manager.fillandgo.ge, each customer being assigned a username and password. The transaction, detailed invoices and reports can be downloaded on a PC in pdf. format or Excel.
It’s absolute control of the fillings in real time and latest generation management. The fuel consumption calculations are 100% accurate and can be accessed at any time. The customer has absolute control tracking and tracing the fuel consumption of any car, type of car, department and, eventually, of the entire fleet.
