The FINANCIAL — The Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts of the Russian Federation continue harvesting of grains and leguminous crops.
Agricultural enterprises of the Central (Belgorod, Oryol and Kursk oblasts) and Volga Federal Districts (Saratov oblast) started harvesting operations, informed the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
As of July 18, 2011, agrarians harvested grains and leguminous plants in the country throughout the areas of over 3.9 mln ha, and produced over 14.6 mln tonnes of grains. The average yield totaled 37.1 c/ha.
In particular, agrarians of the Southern Federal District harvested grains throughout the areas of nearly 2.5 mln ha, and produced over 9.3 mln tonnes of grains. The average yield totaled 37.7 c/ha.
The North Caucasian Federal District harvested grains throughout over 1.2 mln ha, and produced nearly 4.6 mln tonnes of grains with the average yield of 37.5 c/ha.
In the whole country agrarians harvested wheat throughout the areas of over 2.2 mln ha, and produced nearly 8.4 mln tonnes of the grain. The average yield totaled 37.1 c/ha.
Agrarians harvested barley throughout 419.7 thsd ha, produced 1.7 mln tonnes of the grain. The average yield totaled 40.1 c/ha.
