The FINANCIAL — According to RIA Novosti, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed into law a bill on the formation of a Russian state nuclear energy corporation, to be named Rosatom, the Kremlin press service said on December 3.
The law was passed by the lower house of parliament on November 13 and approved by the upper house ten days later, the press service said.
The corporation will be formed on the basis of the Russian Federal Nuclear Power Agency, which is also called Rosatom. The new corporation will be fully controlled by the federal government and will incorporate the Atomenergoprom joint stock company, all civilian and military nuclear facilities and enterprises, research institutions, and organizations working in nuclear and radioactive security.
