The FINANCIAL — An antivirus program, launched on March 1 by Russia's largest search engine Yandex, has detected a harmful program on the official website of the United Nations, according to RIA Novosti.
The search engine returns the un.org website with a warning: "This website might be a threat to your PC."
A Yandex spokesman confirmed that a harmful program was discovered on the UN website and said that the company had already informed the website's administration.
"According to our information, pages on the UN website contain harmful code. We have already informed the website's operator that a virus was detected on its pages," Ochir Mandzhikov said.
He said the potentially harmful code was not dangerous at the moment as it had been linked to a nonexistent domain, but there was still a risk that it could reactivate.
