The FINANCIAL — According to Civil Georgia, President Saakashvili met with lawmakers from his ruling National Movement party on November 16.
Local elections were among the issues discussed during the meeting, according to the President’s administration. In July, President Saakashvili offered to hold local elections on May 30, 2010, instead of autumn, 2010, but the date has yet to be formally set.
Other topics, according to the President administration, were Georgia’s relations with NATO and EU, as well as measures “to further foster liberal” economic environment and situation in occupied territories.
