The FINANCIAL — With the launch of the Apple Watch, SAS is updating its app to support Apple Watch functionality. This move will enable SAS customers to utilize the latest technology as soon as the Apple Watch becomes available on the market.
Apple recently announced that it would be launching the Apple Watch during the spring. Since then, SAS has been developing an update to adapt its app for the Apple Watch. In practical terms, this update means that activities carried out on a phone will also be displayed on the Apple Watch – for example, you will be able to see which gate your plane is departing from, as well as the flight departure time, according to SAS.
“Our customers are increasingly making use of digital technology and our ambition is to be at the forefront of digital development. Our app is very popular, with over 1.3 million downloads. Use of our self-service facilities is continuously increasing and we know that our focus on digital development is something that our customers appreciate,” says Eivind Roald, Executive Vice President Commercial at SAS.
The updated SAS app is now available from the App Store, Google Play and the Windows Phone Store. SAS passengers can use the app to book flight tickets, check in, see what the weather is like at their destination, and more. March 1 saw the launch of a partnership with Readly, and a greater focus on digital newspapers. Earlier this year, SAS won the “Best mobile travel app” category at the Business Travel Awards.
