The FINANCIAL — Konstantin Kosachev, head of the International Relations Committee of the Russian State Duma (lower house of the parliament), said Russia should revise its "moderate" stance towards the self-declared entites if the European states recognize independence of the Serbian province of Kosovo.
Recognition of Kosovo is "very serious factor for revising Russia's cautious policy towards unrecognized republics," Kosachev said.
Georgia has long claimed Russia supports unrecognized provinces of Abkhazia and South Ossetia through providing economic assistance, granting Russian citizenship and military support.
