The FINANCIAL — SHANGHAI. A total of 1.33 million people visited the Shanghai World Expo on October 16, the largest number since the opening of the exhibition May 1, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported.
Sunday failed to break the newly established record with only 745,000 visitors registered.
This year's exhibiton has attracted more visitors than any other, whith over 65.4 million people flocking to the event since May.
The previous record of about 64 million visitors over a six-month period was set at the 1970 Osaka World Expo in Japan.
The 2010 World Expo is being held in Shanghai from May 1 to October 31, 2010. Over 200 states, corporations and international organizations are taking part.
