The FINANCIAL — Chairman of the Central Election Commission Volodymyr Shapoval is sure that the CEC will announce the results of the second round of the presidential elections by February 17, he told a briefing.
At the same time, he said that despite the criticism of the CEC members for their political biasness the commission would perform its duties.
Besides, Shapoval considers that the second round of the elections can be considered legitimate.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, at 8:00 pm, February 7, Ukraine finished voting at the presidential elections.
The Ukrainians elected president from two candidates: Yanukovych and Tymoshenko.
In compliance with preliminary data from exit-poll, Yanukovych obtained 48.7-50.26% of votes, and Tymoshenko – 44.2-45.5%.
