The FINANCIAL — Singapore Airlines and Air Mauritius have signed a codeshare agreement to provide customers more choice and convenience when travelling to Mauritius.
Under the agreement, Singapore Airlines will add its ‘SQ’ designator code to Air Mauritius-operated flights between Singapore and Mauritius. Air Mauritius currently operates three flights per week on the route, according to Singapore Airlines.
“We are delighted with the new agreement with Air Mauritius, which will add the beautiful island nation of Mauritius to the SIA codeshare network. This is another example of how we are continuously looking to expand our reach to provide customers across the SIA network with more travel options,” said Singapore Airlines’ Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Mr Tan Kai Ping.
“Air Mauritius is pleased to announce Singapore Airlines as a codeshare partner as we look to further strengthen the Mauritius – Singapore route. This new partnership will enable our customers to benefit from the networks of Air Mauritius and Singapore Airlines through Mauritius and Singapore,” said Megh Pillay, CEO of Air Mauritius.
The codeshare agreement is expected to take effect for travel from 1 November 2016, subject to regulatory approvals.
