The FINANCIAL — Six countries form nearly 70% of the general agricultural commodities turnover between Ukraine and the European Union – Poland, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, France and Italy. At the same time, they occupy the leading position both in imports and exports, declared the Director of the National Scientific Center “Institute of Agrarian Economics”, Yuri Lupenko on April 4.
It is noted that during 2008-2015 period, each country of the list imported more than 1 bln USD of agricultural products from Ukraine, and such concentration continues strengthening over time.
If in 2008, the above-mentioned countries covered 61% of the export supplies of Ukrainian agro-industrial products, and then in 2012-2015 period the index reached 70%, said Yu.Lupenko.
According to him, some EU countries focus on several stand-alone commodity items. So, Spain covers more than half of Ukrainian grain exports to the EU. France purchases 17% of oilseed supplies, and 11% – vegetable oils. Ukraine supplies over 20% of oilseed crops and almost one quarter of vegetable oils to the Netherlands. And Poland purchases nearly 40% of food industry wastes from Ukraine.
