The FINANCIAL — According to RIA Novosti, at least six people died after a household gas explosion in south Russia's Stavropol Territory in the early hours of January 14, local emergency services reported.
The blast went off at 2:18 a.m. local time (11:18 p.m. January 13 GMT) in a five-floor apartment block in the town of Zheleznovodsk. The victims included a four-month-old girl.
A total of 58 people have been safely evacuated from the building, of whom three are being treated in hospital. Rescuers believe there are no more people trapped in the rubble.
The cause of the explosion is being investigated.
