The FINANCIAL — Sodexo Prestige London has partnered with supplier United Coffee to give its catering staff barista training.
As Caterer and Hotelkeeper reported, the programme, held monthly at United Coffee's headquarters, will cover the variables that affect the growth of coffee beans.
The students will also learn about the short shelf life of coffee beans and techniques to maintain their freshness. As a result, all Prestige London coffee machines will be calibrated to produce a shot of coffee containing 18 grams, giving each customer more coffee per shot without any increase in price.
Sodexo coffee outlets only serve Fairtrade, organic and Rain Forest Alliance-certified coffee supplied to them by United Coffee.
The division has also launched the "premier cru bean" to be sold exclusively across Sodexo Prestige restaurants, cafés, offices and unique venues.
