The FINANCIAL — Five years of efficient logistics operations and genuine spare parts services throughout China: Daimler Northeast Asia Parts Trading and Services Co., Ltd. (DPTS), responsible for the after sales parts logistics of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, vans and trucks, is an integral part of Daimler’s strong presence and future growth plans in China, according to Daimler AG.
“DPTS plays an essential role in Daimler’s customer-first approach in China, by providing outstanding services and delivering high quality genuine spare parts at the right time and place across the country,” said Jan Fischer, CEO of DPTS. “Our infrastructure has grown rapidly over the past five years with five warehouses in operation up to now, and will continue to grow in future: in 2014 we will open our all-new, custom-built Shanghai warehouse and so strengthen our Chinese footprint furthermore,” he added.
Being always embedded in Mercedes-Benz global logistics network, with the brand’s Global Logistics Centre in Germersheim (Germany), the largest warehouse for spare parts worldwide, at its core, DPTS celebrates this year its fifth anniversary in China and represents a one-stop solution for efficient after-sales parts logistics. Since its establishment in 2008, DPTS expanded its regional operations by opening warehouses in key locations such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Yangzhou and Chengdu. In 2010 DPTS has been awarded the internationally acknowledged VDA 6.2 certificate by TÜV SÜD, a leading German-based automotive certification agency located in Beijing, as well as the global industry standard certificate ISO 9001. These standards ensure efficient and transparent business processes and thus improve customer satisfaction. Early 2013 the company also has been certified as Corporate Class AA by Chinese customs, being another proof for DPTS’ qualified processes and services, according to Daimler AG.
DPTS is more confident than ever in providing excellence in parts distribution and services and therefore a competitive advantage to its customers in China. The network of warehouses covers more than 120,000 square meters, operated by over 400 staff, and stocking over 50,000 different parts that represent a value of over 1.3 billion RMB (approx. 150 million Euros). With a highly efficient logistics system, more than 3 million customer orders will arrive at their destination in 2013, meeting the challenge of the sheer size of China and reaching out across the longest distance of around 4,000 km. Currently DPTS is serving Mercedes-Benz passenger car dealers, plus Mercedes-Benz van and truck outlets, with a remarkable service level beyond 96% requested parts on stock.
