The FINANCIAL — SOLO and Alex Promotion will host Japanese pianist and a composer- Keiko Matsui, live in Tbilisi Concert Hall, on November 8th, 2017.
One of the finest performers of New Age and Jazz will play her most famous hits for Georgian audience. Evgeniy Mikeladze Georgian National Symphonic Orchestra, led by Nickoloz Rachveli, will accompany the musician, along with Uzbek Junior Symphonic Orchestra, conducted by Camolidin Urinbaev.
SOLO, ever since its inception in 2015, has hosted numerous legendary performers, including Sting, Chris Botti and Eric Benét. Keiko Matsui is next in this spectacular line.
Mr. Nickoloz Rachveli, the conductor of the aforementioned Evgeniy Mikeladze Georgian National Symphonic Orchestra, had a few words to say about the occasion: “Keiko Matsui’s performance will be a celebration, a similarly beautiful event for both the fans of the pianist and the musical society of Georgia in general. The collaboration of such caliber will be beneficial for our symphonic orchestra. What is particularly exciting for us is that Uzbek Symphonic Orchestra, which has seen substantial success, will be joining us for the occasion. On 8th of November, they will have an opportunity to present themselves before the Georgian audience. We thought it was the perfect opportunity to invite them over, as the Uzbek Symphonic Orchestra has, multiple times, expressed its enthusiasm over the prospect of visiting Georgia. Together, we will develop the program which will accompany the legendary Keiko Matsui. It will be an exciting melting pot of talented musicians- Japanese piano player, currently a U.S. resident and brilliant Georgian, Uzbek symphonic orchestras. We are so happy to have gathered these people together. Jazz enthusiasts, classical music fans and generally, tasteful music connoisseurs will have a golden opportunity to fill their hearts with joy once more.”
Eka Ducidze, representative of SOLO, also commented on the event: “We have great news for music enthusiasts in Georgia, as they will have an opportunity to witness a very intriguing spectacle. Keiko Matsui has released 12 solo albums so far. Her style is cited to be Contemporary Jazz, or Modern Music for Adults, although, over her fruitful career, she has flirted with other directions as well. Calm, beautiful, monolithic and precise notes define her music. She was only 5 years old when she learned to play piano and immediately started improvising melodies. It was Keiko’s father’s initiative, an artist himself who specialized in Japanese dances, to introduce her to the instrument. She was thrilled with her first lesson and ever since then, music became the companion of her life. Keiko started her solo-career in 1987, with her album A Drop of Water. Before that, she recorded 7 albums with a band Cosmos. Customers of SOLO will have the opportunity to purchase six tickets at once for a discounted price of 50 GEL per person, while the rest will have to settle for 60 GEL a piece.”
Initial ticket sale, open just for SOLO customers, will start on 29-30 September, on www.tkt.ge . Regular customers will be able to purchase seats from 1st October, 10:00 AM Tbilisi Time.
