The FINANCIAL — The positions of the Socialist Party of Ukraine leader and the party’s top secretary were united, and occupied by Oleksander Moroz. This decision was made by the third stage of the XIII SPU session, which took place on November 17 in Kyiv.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, the session debated the necessity of uniting the two posts. The party leader O.Moroz insisted that the positions must be united, while a number of delegates was opposed to that idea. However, the majority of delegates support the decision to unite the positions.
After the session, the party’s political council held a session, at which 7 secretaries were elected. As it is known, earlier there were 9 secretaries.
Stanislav Nykolayenko was elected as the second secretary for ideology, Vitalit Shybko – secretary for foreign affairs, Mykhaylo Melnychuk – secretary for financial policy, Yaroslav Mendus – for propaganda. He will also be in charge of the SPU media-holding.
Besides, a number of delegates at the session spoke for banishing Yaroslav Mendus from the party’s political council. However, the session supported his candidacy.
Oleksander Baranivskiy was elected as the secretary for issues of agricultural-industrial complex, Vassyl Tsushko – secretary for relations with local governments, Serhiy Chervonopysskiy will be responsible for relations with NGOs.
