The Hotel was awarded the title of “Best Employer of the Adjara Region” thanks to its vision of maintaining a healthy culture and work environment and strengthening the bond with its associates. At Sheraton it is believed that life is better when shared, and that extends to our workplace. Sheraton associates go the extra mile for our guests with friendly service and thoughtful gestures that create lasting connections, in return Sheraton hotels recognize and appreciate the hard work, dedication and generosity of each member of our large family.
Sheraton Batumi focuses on the satisfaction of its associates to the same extent as the satisfaction of its guests, as it is believed that a satisfied associate is a valuable asset and key to the company’s success. In addition to that, Sheraton Batumi totally reflects the brand’s values by being a company which strives to be part of local society and focuses on establishing close connections with the local community, especially with the universities and colleges whose students are employed by our hotel on a seasonal basis. This year was no exception in that regard. Twenty-five students from Shota Rustaveli State University and Caucasus University’s tourism faculties had their first ever job experience at Sheraton Batumi Hotel. To show our appreciation for their input in to our success during the busiest summer season period and motivate them even more to seek a career in the hospitality sphere, Sheraton Batumi Hotel, as one of the best employers of the region, organized a “Student Appreciation Party” for its summer season trainees.
All students were invited to a party along with their parents and lecturers, this gave everyone a unique opportunity to connect and socialize with each other in an informal and warm environment. Besides that the parents were given a chance to meet with the Hotel’s management and see where their children worked. The students themselves seemed extremely happy to once again be in the Sheraton Batumi and enjoyed their evening, but as guests this time. Upon greeting the associates, the General Manager of the Sheraton Batumi Hotel Omer Subasi said, “The key to our success is our people, thus our associates whether full-time or seasonal are considered our ‘internal guests’ and therefore it is imperative for us to thank them for their hard work and dedication. We also thank their parents for raising such wonderful children as well as thank their universities for getting them ready for hands-on experience. When those kids first came to us at the beginning of the High Season they had no experience in the hotel business at all, but this fact was totally compensated for by their prominent enthusiasm and wish to be part of the worldwide brand. And they made it! In a very short period they not only gained huge experience working in an international five star hotel but also won our hearts thanks to their smiling faces, positivity and eagerness to learn. They totally deserved our recognition as they truly became part of our success. We aimed to motivate and recognize them as they are capable of establishing a great career in our hotel or at any other company. I am proud that we contributed to their professional development and sincerely wish each of them luck and big success in their lives. As they are the future parents, political figures, business men and women, and leaders of our community we are happy to have played a part in the development of their futures!”
The party continued in to the late night where all the students, lecturers, managers and parents danced and enjoyed a special buffet supper and cocktails.
It is worth noting that the Sheraton Batumi Hotel frequently hosts such kinds of events in line with the establishment’s ethos.
