The FINANCIAL — WestJet on July 20 announced it is launching new non-stop service to Florida, Mexico and Costa Rica, as well as adding more than 85 flights across its growing domestic and international network, as part of its winter 2015-2016 flight schedule. WestJet’s regional airline, WestJet Encore, will also begin service three times a day to Boston, its first U.S. destination, with convenient connections via Toronto Pearson.
“WestJet continues to enhance its strong position in key sun markets with the addition of more destinations in areas popular with Canadian travellers,” said Chris Avery, WestJet Vice-President, Network Planning, Alliances and Corporate Development. “Our upcoming winter schedule also adds many new routes, extends routes from seasonal to year-round and increases frequencies within Canada to improve our business and leisure products. And we’re excited to bring on stream our Boeing 767-300ER aircraft to fly between Alberta and Hawaii this winter – yet another important milestone for WestJet.”
As part of 20th July’s announcement, WestJet is also adding flights from many cities across Canada including Victoria, Vancouver, Abbotsford, Kelowna, Penticton, Calgary, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Saskatoon, Brandon, Toronto, Halifax, Charlottetown and Deer Lake. International destinations including Palm Springs, Fort Myers, Orlando, Tampa, Cancun, Loreto, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, Turks and Caicos, Puerto Plata and Punta Cana will also see increased service, according to WestJet.
WestJet will begin its popular service between Alberta and Hawaii on board its new fleet of Boeing 767-300ERs effective December 11, 2015. Already announced, new service between Abbotsford and Las Vegas launches October 29, 2015.
