The FINANCIAL — As of August 4, Tajikistan harvested more than 692.7 thsd tonnes of grains, an increase of 55.3 thsd tonnes compared with the same date last year, declared the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to the anouncement, in the current year the average yield totaled 2.78 t/ha. To date, agrarians continue holding the mass harvesting campaign for grains.
According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the country will not meet its domestic requirements in grains and flour at the expense of domestic produced commodities only. Kazakhstan is the main supplier of such goods to Tajikistan. During six months of 2015, the country imported 400 thsd tonnes of grains and 77.8 thsd tonnes of flour.
