The FINANCIAL — Tata Housing, one of the fastest growing real estate companies in India, announce the launch of India’s first networking platform for brokers on the eve of World Brokers Day. Titled as Bandhan, the platform has been created with a vision to connect, educate, train and certify the broker community in the country in partnership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Targeted exclusively for brokers, Bandhan – India’s first social network for brokers aims at introducing standardised and transparent brokerage practices amidst a very large unorganised broker community, for the eventual benefit of consumers. Apart from training the platform will enable the brokers to list the entire secondary market housing stock to be showcased across the country, according to Tata Housing.
Speaking on the launch of this unique initiative, Brotin Banerjee, CEO and MD, Tata Housing, said, “Despite playing a critical role in the buying cycle, brokers have never got their due respect because of the huge gap in the service expectation of the customer. We believe a lot of credit for the growth of the real estate industry should have been given to brokers as they play a critical role in buying cycle of a consumer.”
He further added “The broker community is yet an unorganised workforce and remains local in nature. With this platform, we not only wish to express our gratitude to the community but help them enhance their skills to serve the end consumer better. With the growing demand from the retail investor segment, brokers are becoming partner in creating wealth and they need to be well equipped to handle their clients like their counter part in the other parts of the world. Through this platform Tata Housing is trying to add value to the channel partners through their certification and knowledge enhancement.”
“Brokers have played a crucial role in the evolution of the real estate market. We believe this is a great initiative by Tata Housing that would help the broker community enhance their image and command respect that has been long due. Training would further strengthen their value and make them important in the decision making cycle. We look forward to working with Tata Housing on this commendable initiative, which we hope will have a significant impact in improving the brokerage landscape,” said Devina Ghildial, MD, South Asia, RICS
The launch marks the occasion of World Brokers Day observed on June 9th. True to its endeavour of raising quality standards in the industry, Tata Housing believes this exclusive social network will not only offer brokers a platform for growth, but also transform them into an indispensable force in the value chain. Through its association with RICS – an organisation of property professionals that sets maintains and regulates standards in the property industry – the platform will offer different training modules to upgrade broker knowledge and service levels. This initiative is also an undertaking by Tata Housing to offer costumers transparent, value-added and international standard brokerage services. There will be other knowledge sharing session that would happen through the exclusive web site.
