The FINANCIAL — In line with its philosophy to curb wastage of energy and spread awareness about energy conservation, Club Enerji, Tata Power's nationwide energy conservation movement spearheaded by school children, has gained momentum in Kolkata.
Over 50 students from St Michael School, Kolkata, today participated in a rally to spread the message on environment conservation. Several posters, banners and placards with paintings depicting various ways to conserve the environment were prepared by the students themselves.
As Tata Sons said, the rally was organised at Chittaranjan Avenue in Kolkata, where the students enthusiastically shouted slogans and spread the message of environment conservation through their posters, placards and handouts.
Speaking on this initiative, Anil Sardana, managing director, Tata Power, said, “Through this initiative, we are committed to providing young minds the right platform to take forward the message of environment conservation. We are happy to see the enthusiasm, involvement and dedication of these school students to spread the message of energy conservation through self-sustained efforts that have contributed towards making this a national movement. We would also like to thank the teachers and principals of the school in extending their support to this initiative.”
Tata Power Club Enerji encourages students to form their own mini Club Enerjis in their school and societies to reach out to more citizens. The club also has various nationwide engagement programmes like Energy-Q (quiz competition), Spark of Life (poster making contest), Every Watt Counts (essay competition), newsletter and an exciting website.
