The FINANCIAL — Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company, has always been committed to improve the quality of education of the students living around its operational areas. In line with this philosophy, Tata Power’s Dherand Thermal Power Project inaugurated Smart Class Education programme in the primary schools of Dherand and Shahapur villages in Maharashtra. The inaugural programme was held in the presence of Mr Pingala, taluka education officer, Alibag, officials of Tata Power, group gram panchayat, Shahapur, and school management committees (SMCs).
The objective of the initiative is to introduce world class learning techniques in schools and assist teachers in building strong conceptual understanding in the students. The programme will also aid in inculcating basic concepts of Mathematics, Science, and English amongst the students in an effective way and increasing the engagement levels of the classes, according to Tata Sons Ltd.
Speaking on the initiative, Ashok Sethi, COO and ED, Tata Power, said, “We at Tata Power are committed to improving the standard of education of the schools around our operational areas. This initiative will facilitate the students with the modern tools and assist in making education more interactive and interesting. We are positive that the initiative will benefit a large number of students, and will empower them for a better and brighter future. I would like to congratulate the team on the achievement, and also greatly thankful to the local administration for their support in implementing the project successfully.”
Mr Pingala, greatly appreciated Tata Power’s efforts in supporting the programme and aiding primary schools to provide quality education as mandated by the Government of India under the Right to Education Act.
The inaugural function of the programme witnessed an overwhelming response from the students and parents. The initiative further reinforces Tata Power’s commitment to educational initiatives in its operational areas and helps strengthen relationship with the communities it serves.
