The FINANCIAL — Tata Power, India’s large integrated power company, through its wholly owned subsidiary Coastal Gujarat Power (CGPL) has once again taken the initiative to provide eco-friendly and sustainable means of electricity by installing light pipes in its warehouse 2 at Mundra, according to Tata Sons.
Under its energy conservation and efficiency initiative, the team at CGPL has implemented a unique concept of light pipes at their warehouse. The light pipes make full use of sunlight and ensure that natural light is appropriately used in the area during daytime, according to Tata Sons.
High impact strength, UV stable, light collectors collect sunlight from all directions and deliver it effectively throughout the day, even in areas that receive very low sunlight. The speciality reflective system delivers high luminance without colour shift even on cloudy days. The intensified sunlight in light pipes is controlled and distributed into indoor spaces by lighting diffusers.
“We believe that small steps taken in this direction will have a great impact on conserving energy. Team CGPL is committed to making all efforts to ensure that such initiatives lead the way for sustainable growth,” said KK Sharma, ED and CEO, CGPL.
