The FINANCIAL — TAV Georgia has received ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management certificates through United Registrar Systems (URS).
The company said these certificates confirm the effectiveness and successful implementation of the Quality Management System and Environment Management System in all the activities of TAV Georgia and also that they meet the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 standards.
“We feel particularly honoured because these two certificates are unique at airport, terminal and ground handling operations in the Caucasus region. This certification is adding a valuable milestone to our operations management system at Tbilisi and Batumi airports,” Mr. Burakh told The FINANCIAL.
“Our aim to implement ISO 14001:2000 is to establish the possible environmental impacts of our services and activities and control those damages in the most environmentally-tolerable levels at the two airports,” Birhekimoglu said.

Today as TAV Airports, which has obtained very remarkable aviation know-how and experience for years; we are significantly taking part in implementing this knowledge and experience into the system. In the airports of which operations are undertaken by us, we are operating our overall activities and services so as to establish the management system in a quality, environmentally-conscious and continually improving frame.”
In Georgia, TAV Airports Holding has been operating in Tbilisi International Airport since 2005 and Batumi International Airport since 2007. TAV Airports Holding also operates at Istanbul Ataturk Airport, Ankara Esenboga Airport, Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport in Turkey and Monastir Habib Bourguiba Airport in Tunisia. What’s more TAV Airports have received the rights for operating Gazipaşa International Airport in Antalya, Turkey and Enfidha Zine Ben Ali International Airport in Tunisia. The airports under the operation of TAV Airports provide services to approximately 35 million passengers annually.
The new terminal serves more than 2.8 million passengers. Furthermore Tbilisi’s new international airport can cater for 11 airplanes at the same time and process between 1,500 and 2,000 passengers an hour.
