The FINANCIAL — TBC Bank is going to open five new branches by the end of the year.
According to Vakhtang Butskhrikidze, Chief Executive Officer of TBC, the main challenges of the Bank this year are offering the highest quality service and implementing new technologies.
TBC Bank has presented a comfortable and ultramodern distance banking service – special versions of mobile banking for iPhones and Androids. More than 400 customers already use TBC’s mobile banking applications. Applications for Android phones are also ready and will be available soon.
“Created for improved mobile banking service of TBC Bank, these applications enable iPhone and Android users to contact the Bank at any moment, from anywhere and carry out a desired transaction, as well as receive banking services and a lot of other financial information,” TBC Bank representatives note.
“This is the newest technology that we are offering our customers. Through the application of mobile banking at TBC Bank, iPhone and Android users will be able to check out their accounts, pay bills, top up their mobile phone accounts, do money transactions within Georgia, contact the call centre, get informed about exchange rates, and find out the distance from them to the nearest TBC Bank branch or ATM,” said Butskhrikidze.
Applying for mobile banking is free and does not require for users to register.
Users can sign in for mobile banking with the same username and password they use for internet banking.
“Users can download the TBC application from the App Store (for iPhones) or from Android Market (for Android) in order to get the most convenient and up-to-date mobile banking in Georgia, with a lovely design and multiple functions that have no analogue in the Georgian banking market. By the end of the year every user that has an internet browser on their phone will be able to use the service, and the majority of phones on the Georgian market have such browsing capabilities,” TBC bank representatives note.
TBC Bank opened its new branch at Vaja-Pshavela Avenue 49 last week.
“Opening and adding new branches is very important for our bank. Adding new branches creates additional comfort for our clients. Customers can receive TBC Bank services in many locations. Our branch will implement total banking services for individual as well as for corporate clients. We pay much attention to service quality, so we promise all of our clients a high level of service. At the moment we have 24 staff at the branch and by the end of the year this number will increase,” said the Vaja-Pshavela branch Director.

This growth in assets was largely driven by the increase in investment securities available for sale by 129.6 million GEL and was in particular due to the purchase of government bonds which happened as a consequence of the high liquidity position of the Group in Georgian Lari.
“The growth in assets was also largely driven by the increase in net loans and advances to customers which within the same period grew by 72.9 million GEL or 3.6% to 2,081.7 million GEL as of 31 March 2012. The Group’s total liabilities also grew by 147.0 million GEL or 5.2% Y‐T‐D and reached 2,978.2 GEL as of 31 March 2012. Similarly, due to banks grew by 36.0 million GEL or 32.6% Y‐T‐D reaching 146.4 million GEL as of 31 March 2012,” the Bank reported.
