The FINANCIAL — “We think that this initiative will promote development of the local flights and significantly increase the tourist flow” – the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Giorgi Cherkezishvili commented upon the launching of the regular Tbilisi-Batumi flights.
“Starting from July 7, regular flights between Tbilisi and Batumi will be operated by the ServiceAir Ltd via Saab-type 32-seat aircrafts. Flights will be performed every day except Wednesdays. On Fridays and Sundays, the flights will be performed three times a day. We think that this initiative will support development of the local flights as well as the significant increase of the tourist flows. These flights will bring benefits to local as well as foreign tourists” – Giorgi Cherkezishvili noted.
The ServiceAir Ltd has won the electronic tender of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, which was announced for the purpose of procurement of the passenger air transportation, organizing the air flights and provision of execution services. The ServiceAir Ltd is currently operating flights from Natakhtari Airdrome to Kutaisi, Mestia and Ambrolauri, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
