The FINANCIAL — Tbilisi Expo, a newly established Georgian exhibition company is preparing for its debut event: Georgian leading stores and shops will display men and women’s clothing, jewellery and accessories in the Sheraton Metechi Palace. The event will start on April 18, 2008..
“We try to combine trade fairs with various congress or conference activities. Experienced, attentive event coordinators work to develop new concepts and programs. I suppose that soon Tbilisi Expo will have a strong presence at the international economic forums,” Magda Ablotia, General Director of Tbilisi Expo told The FINANICAL.
As Ablotia stated, the company plans to cooperate both with individual private clients and corporate ones.
“One of the biggest of exhibitions in Tbilisi and in the whole of the Caucasus is Expo Georgia, but Tbilisi Expo is conceptually different. Expo Georgia has a long history and it has already found its niche at the international exhibitions as well,” said Ablotia.
“Supposedly Tbilisi Expo’s events will be an excellent forum for decision makers to evaluate new products, make new contacts, enhance supplier relationships and conduct purchasing activities, providing exceptional customer service at the business centre, ideally equipped for business strategy, vision and innovation,” noted Ablotia.
According to Ablotia, exhibitions of such type are rather unfamiliar to the Georgian market. She named several reasons why a company should take part in these events: it provides face to face contact, appeals to all the senses, can launch new products, attract a large number of buyers – display an entire product range, meet buyers you don't know – conduct market research, meet clients and generate new business.
“As for conferences, Tbilisi Expo intends to organize and host a number of international conferences and conventions in parallel to and independent from its exhibitions. These events will play a vital role in the development of business contacts and the promotion of international companies in new markets,” declared Ablotia.
According to Ablotia, the mission of Tbilisi Expo is to show the best example of exhibition engineering and management with highly qualified staff offering the most sophisticated standard of services.
“We provide a comprehensive range of specialist services ranging from a fully equipped rental stand, advertising service, telecommunication or publishing,” said Ablotia.
Im Ablotia’s words, this time Georgian shops and stores got interested in this project and Tbilisi Expo is cooperating with: SHE’S, SASSOFONO, SAFILO, SHOP in SHOP, ZARAPXANA, ARTTIME, DIADEMA, and NEVER THE SAME.
“Tbilisi Expo will host numerous visitors in the Sheraton Metechi Palace, on April 18, 2008,” Ablotia added.
According to Tamuna Kveladze, the Founder of the shop SHE’S, it is the first time they have taken part in such an exhibition.
“SHE’S will represent its new collection of bijouterie and different accessories. Their prices range from GEL 13 – GEL 700. The most expensive bijouterie represented at the exhibition will be a necklace,” Kveladze added.
According to Elena Elishakov, the Founder of Sassofono, the shop will give5 % discount cards to the customers.
“Such a type of exhibition is being held for the first time in Tbilisi. If we look back to the European experience, exhibitions always raise brand awareness. Sassofono’s shops are represented in many European countries. As for me, I am an official representative of this shop in three countries: Georgia, Russia and Belgian. Sassafono has women’s clothing and a new collection will be represented at this exhibition. As a rule, this exhibition must be a success,” Elishakov added.
As David Khutsishvili, the General Manager of SHOP in SHOP, said, this store has been represented on the Georgian market for the last two years. He noted that it was for the first time an exhibition company got interested and offered such cooperation.
“We plan to make surprises for our customers at the exhibition and SHOP in SHOP will offer discount vouchers. The store is a multi brand shop and represents men’s clothing brands from German. The cost of the clothes range from GEL 100 – GEL 1,500. This shop occupies the largest area – 24 sq/m at the expo,” Khutsishvili said.
According to Nina Talakvadze, the Marketing Manger of Art Time, the shop is taking part in this exhibition to raise the brand popularity among people. Art Time has just opened a jewellery shop on 37 Rustaveli Ave. Tbilisi.
“Art Time was an official dealer of Swatch watches and different accessories, but now the shop has an additional direction connected to jewellery. This jewellery is imported from Italy and many of them have expensive diamonds. Jewellery prices range from GEL 100 to GEL 25 thousand and the prices of watches range from GEL 60 to GEL 11 thousand,” Talakvadze added.
In Vakhtang Beglarishvili’s words, the first deputy of Diadem General Director, they decided to take part in this exhibition not for the purpose of increasing their sales indexes during the exhibition, but to increase popularity among potential buyers and attract their attention.
“Diadem decided to represent its products at the exhibition since it’s an expo of new offers. It gives us the chance to establish interesting business contacts with new purchasers and become more famous with this new segment of population. Prices of our product range from USD 200 – USD 20 thousand. We do not plan to sell Diadem exclusive jewellery, as this exhibition is a part of our PR campaign. The company does not intend to get profits from the trades held at the exhibition,” said Beglarishvili.
