The FINANCIAL — Tegeta Premium Vehicles, daughter company of Tegeta Motors, is offering a special ten percent discount on Mazda’s 2012 models.
The special offer started on September 1 and several cars have already been sold since the beginning of the marketing drive. The company specially chose this period for the promotional action so as to coincide with after people’s summer vacations. It will help Tegeta Premium Vehicles to become a bigger distributor of cars, at the same time giving Mazda fans quite a good opportunity to buy one of the cars at a reasonable price.
Mazda is sold more in the used car market, which is currently ten times bigger than the new car market in Georgia.
“The situation helps us to be totally mobilized,” said David Nozadze, Director of Tegeta Premium Vehicles. “We are trying to make sure that it is more attractive for customers to buy a less expensive, new car rather than a used car, even if from a more prominent brand. The competition is quite tough in Georgia, but I appreciate the fact that such a large amount of used cars are sold here. This is quite favourable, especially for residents of the region considering the average low incomes.”
Mazda is directly competing with other Japanese car producers including Toyota, Mitsubishi, Honda and Kia. As Mazda is manufactured in Germany, its cars are more or less similar to Volkswagen and Opel.
“It is known that Toyota has been the leader on the Georgian market for a long time. The market is quite aggressive, which is good. All producers are offering quite good new cars at affordable prices. But we offer quite a healthy alternative. Our cars are better quality and more durable,” he claims.
“This competition is not a problem for us. The auto trade is quite well supported in Georgia. As a result the number of cars in the country is growing annually. In general Georgians have good taste in cars. Each customer that comes to our centre knows what he/she wants and what their reasons are for wanting that exact model.”
Currently Mazda Center Tbilisi offers six different Mazda models (two versions of the Mazda 3, Mazda 6, Mazda CX-7 and Mazda CX-9), while the most popular model is the sedan Mazda 3. The company plans to sell 150 vehicles by the end of this year; sales started in May. “Half of this amount has already been sold,” claims David Nozadze, Director of Tegeta Premium Vehicles.
“Mazda 3 with engine capacity of 1.6 is a very popular model both abroad and locally too,” David Nozadze told The FINANCIAL. “This is a well-built car with quite an affordable price of USD 19,700 under this promo. In general the Georgian car market is distinguished by quite a large number of jeeps. For jeep lovers we offer the Mazda CX-9, which is quite big and spacious. The Mazda CX-9 is the perfect car for families, currently on sale at USD 40,300.”
Tegeta Premium Vehicles is planning to add some other models in 2013. The company also plans to open a special, large showroom for Mazda. The current showroom is located in the central office of Tegeta Motors, 12th Km Aghmashenebli Alley.
