The FINANCIAL — Huawei and True Group on November 5 jointly announced that True has selected Huawei as the to upgrade its International Gateway Network, and build new routers in Singapore, Hong Kong and the Netherlands.
The International Gateway Network will provide True’s subscribers with a diverse, smoother service using Huawei’s 2Tbps core router platform and SDN ready solutions.
With the fast development of Super Fast Fiber service and LTE service, and the extensive usage of intelligent terminals for online video, True’s international gateway network has seen explosive growth in data traffic growth. With True offering TV, broadband, mobile, and electronic cash and payment services in Thailand, they urgently needed to optimize their networks and expand its International Gateway Network’s capacity to improve its subscribers’ experience, according to Huawei.
Huawei’s new generation 2T/slot super core router (NE40E), supports flexible networking of multiple 100GE ports, 40GE ports, and 10GE ports to provide 2T/slot capacity, and comes with SDN-based traffic steering optimization solution. By deploying Huawei’s new generation super core router, the True International Gateway can support True’s future growth for the next 5 to 10 years whilst the energy and space-saving the core router provides will significantly improve the operators total cost of ownership.
“Traffic on True International Gateway Network is growing dramatically as FTTX/LTE broadband services and video services develop, which is why companies such as True are looking to apply new generation core router technology in live networks. Huawei leads in core router and SDN technology by providing solutions that facilitate network capacity expansion, optimize the network resource and remove bandwidth bottlenecks, all of which help carriers construct a future-oriented Smart International Gateway network,” said Mr. Gai Gang, President of Huawei Carrier IP Product Line.
Using global leading IP technologies, Huawei IP products and solutions are being used by some of the world’s leading communication service providers, including China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom, BT (British Telecom), Telefonica, Vodafone and SingTel.
