The FINANCIAL — In his final speech at the the 126th session of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria and Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe Daniel Mitov highlighted the Council of Europe’s activity in terms of Georgia.
Daniel Mitov put particular emphasis on the importance of 4 May 2016 decision taken by the Committee of Foreign Ministers to ensure the protection of human rights in Georgia’s occupied territories.
In his speech, Daniel Mitov also discussed the Georgia-Council of Europe 2016-2019 Action Plan and expressed the hope that Georgia would successfully implement it, according to MFA of Georgia.
The document includes the projects due to be carried out in Georgia by the Council of Europe in 2016-2019 aiming at the co-operation with the Georgian authorities in the spheres of the enhancement of protection of human rights, democracy and the rule of law.
The 126th meeting of the Committee of Foreign Ministers of the Council of Europe was held in Bulgaria on 17-18 May 2016. Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze took part in the meeting.
