The FINANCIAL — Georgian Deputy Foreign Ministers Vakhtang Makharoblishvili and David Jalagania held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the German Federal Republic to Georgia Dr. Heike Peitsch.
Discussions focused on a broad spectrum of co-operation between the two countries in both bilateral and multilateral formats. The sides emphasized the importance of celebrating the Germany-Georgia Friendship Year and the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Germany.
Vakhtang Makharoblishvili thanked Ambassador Heike Peitsch for the German Government’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its European and Euro-Atlantic integration, according to MFA of Georgia.
The Deputy Foreign Minister highlighted the great potential both countries have for developing co-operation in the areas of economy, investments, technical and financial assistance, education, science, culture, tourism, etc.
The Ambassador, for his part, commended Georgia for the progress it has achieved on its path of reforms and reaffirmed Germany’s interest in taking further steps towards deepening relations between the two countries.
Deputy Foreign Minister David Jalagania held his first meeting the German Ambassador. The sides spoke about close and multifaceted relations between the two countries. David Jalagania thanked Heike Peitsch for the financial and technical assistance Georgia has rendered to Georgia within the framework of development cooperation, which has substantially contributed to the institutional and social-economic transformation of the country.
