The FINANCIAL — Last weekend the Muza exhibition centre hosted a children’s art exhibition organized by Rompetrol Georgia. More than 6,000 children’s drawings were collected in the frame of the social responsibility project – The Energy of Your Future.
General Director of Rompetrol Georgia Dan Voicu opened the exhibition-sale. He chose to buy a picture depicting faces, expressing the different moods of people.
“I started the sale with an offer of GEL 1,000 for the picture I liked most. I chose that particular picture because it portrays life in an amusing and yet serious way. In preparation for this action we visited different cities in Georgia and with the help of famous artists helped children to express their fantasies and feelings on paper. The total sum received from the pictures sold will be transferred to three orphanages in Tbilisi. We do not know yet which of the orphan centres will receive this money but you should be sure that the sum will reach its destination,” Voicu says.
Any interested individual can come and see the drawings and purchase one for any amount starting from GEL 1.
The action, promoted by its moto, was started by Rompetrol in Tbilisi on May 31. It continued in Gori, Kutaisi, and then Batumi. During that period more than 6,000 drawings were collected and exhibited in Rompetrol stations throughout Georgia.
“We are thinking about energy and its association with our future, and the future is directly connected to children. We decided to initiate this campaign and let children put their energy and creativity into this work. We believe that this campaign will get positive feedback from society and gradually become large scale,” Voicu declares.
Voicu believes that what’s most important is that children are involved in this campaign and that children are helping other children. “We plan to continue working on different social projects but for the time being we will be discreet about what those are exactly. I predict that we will raise approximately GEL 10,000 from this current action.”
Famous cartoonist Zaal Sulakauri and his studio’s masters were giving drawing lessons to children during the campaign. Rompetrol handed out special presents to the children. They were also awarded with diplomas signed by Sulakauri.
