The FINANCIAL — On 28 April 2015, the 4th session of the “Austrian – Georgian Joint Commission for bilateral foreign economic relations” was held in Vienna, according to MFA Georgia.
The Georgian delegation, headed by Deputy Minister for Economy and Sustainable Development Mikheil Janelidze, included Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Austria, Permanent Representative of Georgia to OSCE and other International Organizations in Vienna H.E. Konstantine Zaldastanishvili, Deputy Foreign Minister David Jalagania, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Nodar Kereselidze and representatives of the Government of Georgia.
Prior to the session, a meeting between Austrian Vice-Minister for Foreign Economic Policy and European Integration Bernadette M. Gierlinger and Mikheil Janelidze was held.
The Commission focused on the enhancement of bilateral economic co-operation between Georgia and Austria and underlined the importance of co-operation in the spheres of trade, energy, agriculture, tourism, environment, infrastructure and education.
Particular emphasis was put on the process of Georgia’s integration with the EU and the ongoing reforms in the country. Given the aforesaid, the Austrian side expressed the readiness to assist Georgia through the Austrian Development Agency (ADA).
In conclusion, the Commission signed a Protocol on Bilateral Co-operation.
