The FINANCIAL — Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Vakhtang Makharoblishvili held his first meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Georgia Kai Kaarelson.
The Deputy Minister and the Ambassador spoke about the bilateral relations between Georgia and Estonia, as well as plans for the future, including the exchange of high-level visits in 2017. It was emphasized that the co-operation between the two countries is unprecedentedly dynamic and Estonia provides expert assistance to Georgia, for which Vakhtang Makharoblishvili thanked the Ambassador. The Deputy Minister spoke about the Georgian Government’s priorities within the framework of international organizations underlining the importance of Estonia’s involvement in implementing the reforms in Georgia.
Discussions also focused on the EU-Georgia relations and on the progress made towards visa liberalization. The Estonian Ambassador highly appraised Georgia’s activities in this direction, according to MFA of Georgia.
Talking points also included Estonia’s presidency of the EU Council in 2017 and events scheduled to take place during this period.
