The FINANCIAL — On 13 May 2015, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Gigi Gigiadze met Bundestag’s Head of the Germany-South Caucasus Friendship Group Karin Strenz. The delegation included Bundestag’s deputies Johannes Kahrs, Katrin Kunert, Tabea Rößner, Tankred Schipanski, who represent different political parties at the legislative body of Germany.
Gigi Gigiadze thanked the German Parliament’s members for visiting Georgia, underlined the importance of the inter-parliamentary co-operation, which has become more extensive and focused on bilateral visits at different levels, according to MFA Georgia.
The delegation members reaffirmed their Government’s strong support for Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and territorial integrity. The delegation also took an interest in the process of Georgia’s integration with the EU and regional co-operation.
The Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister focused on the particular importance of the Eastern Partnership Riga Summit for Georgia and on the progress Georgia has achieved in the process of integration with the EU. Gigi Gigiadze also underlined the importance of Germany’s support for realization of Georgia’s Western aspirations.
The delegation, which visited Georgia on 10-13 May, held official meetings with the high level representatives of the legislative and executive branches of the country.
