The FINANCIAL — On 15 April 2015, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister David Jalagania met the German Bundestag deputies, CDU/CSU members Tankred Schipanski and Martin Pätzold, who also is the CDU/CSU reporter on Armenian and Georgian Issues in the German Bundestag Committee on the Affairs of the European Union.
At the meeting, the Bundestag deputies expressed their interest in Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, including, the process of implementation of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement and Georgia’s expectations for the forthcoming Eastern Partnership Riga Summit. The current situation in Georgia’s occupied territories and security environment in the region were also discussed.
David Jalagania discussed in detail Georgia’s vision regarding the aforesaid issues and thanked the German Bundestag deputies for the strong support of Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as European and Euro-Atlantic integration, according to MFA Georgia.
The Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister also underlined the need to enhance bilateral relations with the Federal Republic of Germany in different spheres in the context of Georgia’s association with the European Union.
