The Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister has met the Greek businessmen

The FINANCIAL — On 15 February 2016, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister David Jalagania met George Karras and Panagos Lemos, the Greek ship-owners and co-owners of the transport companies „LPL Shipping S.A.“ and „Alcon Holding Inc.“. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Hellenic Republic Ioseb Nanobashvili also attended the meeting.    

The Greek businessmen, who are on their visit to Georgia from 15 to 22 February, plan to establish Greek-Georgian shipping company, to open an office and to actively operate on the Georgian market, according to MFA of Georgia.

David Jalagania informed the Greek businessmen on the investment environment in Georgia, the country’s transit potential, transport infrastructure and the projects due to be carried out. The Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister underlined that the company „LPL Shipping S.A.“ through gaining access to the market of Georgia will give an additional impetus to the development of the Georgian-Greek industrial-investment relations.

George Karras and Panagos Lemos will also hold meetings at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the JSC “The Georgian railway”, the Georgian Partnership Fund, the Georgian Maritime Transport Agency, the Georgia-EU Business Council, the Batumi City Hall and the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Achara, as well as at the management companies and transport agencies of the Georgian ports.
