The FINANCIAL — Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimer Gurgenidze, who is on his visit to Athens, held meetings with the Georgian Diaspora organisations working in Greece.
Talking points included the current situation in Greece and the problems Georgian nationals living in Greece are facing due to the financial crisis. Members of the Georgian Diaspora organisations informed Vladimer Gurgenidze on their needs. Issues regarding the education, health care and legal status of Georgians living in Greece were also discussed. Representatives of the Georgian Embassy and Diaspora once again expressed their readiness to hold meetings on a regular basis, to organise thematic discussions and to share Diaspora members’ opinions on various issues.
The Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister visited the Hellenic Republic on 2 July to get acquainted with the current developments in the country and the needs of Georgian nationals living there and to insure the effective work of Georgia’s diplomatic missions, according to MFA Georgia.
In the frames of the visit, Vladimer Gurgenidze has already met Foreign Ministry’s Secretary General for International Economic Relations Giorgos Tsipras. Today the Deputy Minister will visit Thessaloniki to meet Georgian Diaspora and to get acquainted with the work of the General Consulate in Thessaloniki.
