The Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister has received the Swiss Ambassador to Georgia and the Deputy Ambassador

The FINANCIAL — Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Vakhtang Makharoblishvili held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Georgia Lukas Beglinger and Alvaro Borghi.

Discussions focused on a broad spectrum of co-operation between Georgia and the Swiss Confederation noting with satisfaction the increasing level of bilateral relations and the readiness to further deepen the existing partnership, according to MFA of Georgia.

Deputy Foreign Minister Vakhtang Makharoblishvili thanked the Swiss diplomat for Switzerland’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and for its mediation efforts in Georgia’s relations with Russia. The sides paid special attention to the importance of signing Free Trade Agreement with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) in terms of deepening bilateral economic relations. Possibilities for the further development of co-operation in the areas of mountain tourism, agriculture, education and culture were also highlighted during the meeting

Lukas Beglinger reaffirmed the Swiss side’s readiness to further contribute to the strengthening of relations between the two countries.
