The FINANCIAL — On 19 April 2016, Georgian Deputy Foreign Ministers David Jalagania and Zviad Gonadze held a meeting with Kyung-Seok Kim, Vice President of POSCO – the largest steel manufacturing company in South Korea and representatives of the company. The participants of the meeting discussed an investment project on the use of advanced technologies, which will be carried out in co-operation with the Rustavi Metallurgical Plant.
Director General of the Rustavi Metallurgical Plant Nugzar Kachukhashvili also attended the meeting, according to MFA of Georgia.
David Jalagania welcomed Korea’s interest in Georgia and updated the Korean delegation on the political and economic situation and investment environment in Georgia, as well as on ტჰე increasing level of bilateral relations between Georgia and Korea.
The POSCO representatives arrived in Georgia to obtain information on the possibilities of carrying out the joint investment project. The visit was preceded by the signing of the Memorandum on Co-operation, which provides for technical assistance aimed at improving the capacities of the Rustavi Metallurgical Plant. The Embassy of Georgia to the Republic of Korea is actively involved in the process of co-operation.
