The FINANCIAL — On 18 July 2016, in New York, a meeting was held between Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani and UN Under-Secretary-General, the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Shamshad Akhtar.
David Zalkaliani informed Shamshad Akhtar on the steps Georgia has been taking to implement the sustainable development goals at the national level, focusing on the Four-point Reform Plan of the Government of Georgia.
David Zalkaliani and Shamshad Akhtar discussed the existing co-operation between Georgia and the ESCAP, including the possible directions of the co-operation, which will promote the implementation of a new Agenda for Sustainable Development, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
