The FINANCIAL — Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani met Hannes Hanso, the Chair of the National Defence Committee of the Estonian Parliament and the delegation of the Estonian Defense Ministry arriving for a two-day visit in Georgia.Â
The First Deputy Foreign Minister noted with satisfaction that Georgia and Estonia enjoy strong ties of friendship and partnership and emphasized the fruitful co-operation between the two countries in the areas of defence and security, practical and expert assistance as well as Estonia’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and its European and Euro-Atlantic course.
The sides also discussed the threats and challenges facing the region. David Zalkaliani provided the Estonian delegation with detailed information regarding the security and humanitarian situation in Georgia’s occupied territories, according to MFA of Georgia.
Special attention was paid to Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration process and to the results of the NATO Warsaw Summit. Hannes Hanso highlighted that the process of reforms is proceeding successfully and thanked Georgia for its important contribution towards strengthening international security.
