The FINANCIAL — On 15 February 2016, Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani met Director of the Second Department of Eurasia of Israel’s Foreign Ministry Rafael Harpaz, according to MFA of Georgia.
At the introductory meeting, the two sides discussed the current issues on the agenda of co-operation between their countries and the prospects for the further enhancement of bilateral and multilateral co-operation; underlined the increasing level of relations in different directions; and expressed their readiness to intensify relations and to make maximum use of a huge potential for development of co-operation between Georgia and Israel.
Talking points also included the security challenges in the Middle East region that have an effect upon the global security environment. David Zalkaliani and Rafael Harpaz underlined the need to develop the working format, providing the sides with an opportunity to assess the existing security challenges and to determine ways of preventing these challenges.
Rafael Harpaz was informed on the current situation in Georgia’s occupied territories, on the Geneva International Discussions and on the so-called “treaties” signed between Russia and the occupation regimes of Sokhumi and Tskhinvali.
