The FINANCIAL — On 19 March 2015, the Georgian Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting between Minister Tamar Beruchashvili and the Coordination Council of the Georgian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, according to MFA Georgia.
At the meeting the upcoming Eastern Partnership Riga Summit was discussed. As the Minister stated, it is crucual for the government to use all resources the civil society has to achieve the European integration objectives. “Today we have discussed the issues regarding the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga. It is important to use all resources the civil society and its partners have to gain the political support related to Georgia’s European integration and the main purposes of the Riga Summit”, the Minister said.
The members of the Georgian National Platform underlined the importance of effective dialogue and co-ordination of the Government and the civil society towards the implementation of the country’s foreign policy priorities. Talking points also included the National Platform’s initiative to call upon the European Union to make an unequivocal political message on Georgia’s European prospects at the Riga Summit.
