The FINANCIAL — Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze met the head of the Germany-South Caucasus parliamentary group under the German Bundestag, Karin Schtrenz and members of this group.
The sides highly appraised the growing dynamics generated by bilateral relations between Georgia and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasizing there Georgia and Germany have seen an intensive level of inter-parliamentary cooperation recently. In this context, the sides spoke about the importance of celebrating the Georgia-Germany Friendship Year. Special attention was paid to the ways of further deepening bilateral co-operation.
Mikheil Janelidze thanked the Bundestag members for their contribution to Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration. The members of the German delegation reaffirmed that Georgia is the most successful country in the region and expressed their support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its Euro-Atlantic integration course, according to MFA of Georgia.
The members of the Germany-South Caucasus parliamentary group under the German Bundestag will remain in Georgia from 11 to 13 June 2017 and will hold meetings with officials of the executive and legislative branches of the government, as well as with representatives of the German organizations based in Georgia.
