The FINANCIAL — On 14 July 2015 Georgian Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchashvili held a meeting with Head of the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM) Kęstutis Jankauskas, according to MFA Georgia.
The Georgian side reaffirmed its concern over the illegal placement of banners by the Russian occupying forces on 10 July marking the so-called “border” on the territory adjacent to the village of Tsitelubani of Gori municipality and the village of Orchosani in occupied Akhalgori district in close vicinity to the Tbilisi-Gori central highway. It was emphasized that this yet another provocative action is part of Russia’s crawling occupation and annexation policy pushing Georgia’s occupied regions to complete isolation.
Kęstutis Jankauskas stated, on his part, that the EUMM continues intensive patrolling along the occupation line in order to prevent all possible incidents and escalation of the situation. In this context the Georgian Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of the Mission, as well as the necessity of creating international security arrangements in the occupied regions.
