The FINANCIAL — On 8 July 2015, Georgian Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchashvili met Special Representative of the Federal Government for Germany’s OSCE chairmanship in 2016, Coordinator for Inter-societal Cooperation with Russia, Central Asia and the Eastern Partnership Countries, member of the German Bundestag Dr. Gernot Erler.
Tamar Beruchashvili and Gernot Erler focused on Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, current situation in Georgia’s occupied territories, regional co-operation and security issues. First Deputy Foreign Minister David Dondua took part in the meeting, according to MFA Georgia.

Gernot Erler particularly interested in Georgia’s vision regarding the prospects of the country’s integration with the EU and NATO, Geneva International Discussions and relations with the neighboring countries.

The Foreign Minister thanked the Bundestag’s deputy for the German Government’s strong support for Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations as well as for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity; she also underlined the increasing dynamics in bilateral relations between Georgia and Germany and expressed the hope that the two countries will further enhance the co-operation.

Gernot Erler paid a working visit to Tbilisi to hold meetings with representatives of the Georgian legislative and executive branches. In addition, on 8 July, in the frames of the 20th anniversary of the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation’s activity in Georgia, he will take part in a conference dedicated to the Georgian-German relations.Â
