The FINANCIAL — The Georgian Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze held a meeting General Denis Mercier, NATO Supreme Allied Commander Transformation who arrived in Georgia to participate in the conference in Tbilisi on the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package initiative.
Discussions focused on the process of Georgia’s integration with NATO and preparations for the NATO Summit in Brussels. Special attention was paid to the progress achieved in the implementation of the NATO-Georgia Substantial Package and the contribution of the NATO member and partner countries to this process, according to MFA.
The sides also spoke about the ongoing democratic reforms in the country and the security situation in the region. The Minister updated the NATO Supreme Allied Commander Transformation on the developments in Georgia’s occupied territories. Talking points also included NATO-Georgia co-operation in terms of strengthening Black Sea security.
Making special mention of the high professionalism of the Georgian armed forces, General Denis Mercier expressed his gratitude for Georgia’s important contribution towards the strengthening of common Euro-Atlantic security.
